However we do get somethings answered like: What happened to Kingsley in Hell, More info on the Gates, and we get a glimpse into Allegra's past with Stephen "Bendix" Chase and what happened in the end between her and Charles. Charles is Schuyler's actual father. I had an inkling after reading the third book Revelations, but now there is very little doubt in my mind that I am right.

I really liked that Melissa talks about the culture in Egypt and she references many different locations around Egypt. I also really love the fact that I just can't see the ending to this series. I have no idea how they are going to defeat Lucifer and his minions, how is Schuyler Skye going to help, who else is going to die and how they are going to come back from being almost totally devastated. I am going to say it I ship Schuyler and Jack. In the beginning I was totally team Oliver Ollie and I was leery of Jack, then after a couple of books I was torn and now I can see why Skye and Jack a made for each other.

She is the light and he is the darkness, "without darkness there could be no light" I think it was a Sailor Moon quote, yes I am totally serious. What I didn't like: I really can't see Oliver and Mimi being friends, it just seems weird and I hate the fact that even though Oliver and Skye still consider themselves friends it's a different kind of friendship. They aren't as close as they use to be, you can feel the distance between them and Mimi is apart of that.

I can't wait to see what happens in the end. The final book is Gates of Paradise and I will be reading it, soon rather than later. One person found this helpful. My journey through the Blue Bloods series has been a lovely one, though this book isn't necessarily my favorite. You see, while Blue Bloods and Masquerade were extremely commercial, Revelations started to break the mold, and the Van Alen Legacy completely shattered it.

Keys to the Repository was essential to me understanding this series' universe. I simply adored Misguided Angel and Bloody Valentine.

This book, though, was simply okay. Lost In Time focuses on a big search for two things: We see new friends come, we see new friends die, we see the state of the vampire world, and we get a glimpse of what the future may hold. While I did finish this book pretty quickly, considering I teach full time, I can't say I truly enjoyed it. I can't say it even compares to other Blue Blood novels; it's pacing was a little off and the plotting seemed stretched thin. Overall, though, it was a good enough read!

I will read the final book in this series, Gates of Paradise. I started reading the Blue Bloods books a couple years ago on spring break from law school. I loved the shifting perspectives, how each character was fully developed and the magnificent detail in creating the Blue Bloods world. I love the unique take on the origins of vampirism that de la Cruz has given the series by recasting vampires as fallen angels. However, I was disappointed by Lost in Time. As others have mentioned, it felt like we were circling, much like Mimi and Oliver in Limbo. Lost in Time presented us with new mysteries, without resolving the old, and very few answers.

I could forgive that since it is the penultimate book in the series. What I can't forgive, and is literally driving me nuts as a reader in this already very complicated web of characters and story-threads, is the way that de la Cruz continually pushes her spin-off series' into the limelight of a Blue Bloods book.

I sat down and read the series in successive order this week and found that even I was a bit lost when Lost in Time began, but its because de la Cruz intentionally lef the Blue Bloods readers out of the development of the Mimi-Oliver relationship. The introduction of Oliver as Mimi's conduit threw me, and Mimi and Oliver's storyline is fully driven by events that have occurred outside of the Blue Bloods series, presumably in the spin-off witch series.

I wouldn't mind a little crossover cameo here and there, but the fact that one of Lost in Time's major plot points developed from events unseen in this series, really led me to question de la Cruz's integrity as a storyteller. I don't like feeling pushed into reading the spin-off series to find out what is going on in a series that I've been with for years, and its cast a negative shadow over the entire series for me. Realizing that the only way to rid herself of her, father, Lucifer himself, Bliss takes the piece of glass which is Michael's sword and stabs herself in the heart. His presence forces Jack, Schuyler, Mimi, and Kingsley into the glom: The only one that does not make it out of the glom is Kingsley, who becomes trapped in the underworld. Isabella of Orleans has offered them protection as they pursue their mission, but they quickly realize that Isabella's offer is more like imprisonment than protection, and they devise a plan to escape and continue their quest to locate the Gates of Hell.

They find themselves in danger and on the run from Isabella's minions, soon discovering that they are under surveillance by the European Conclave. Mimi Force has been elected as the new Regent of the crumbling Coven, which, thanks to an internet video release of the teen vampires at a party, is at risk of being exposed to the Red Bloods humans. She is heartbroken over losing Kingsley, who is trapped in Hell, and faces immense rage and embarrassment over Jack's decision to forsake their bond to be with the half-blood, Schuyler Van Alen.

Meanwhile, she has begun working with Oliver—an unlikely situation due to their rocky relationship—and the Lennox twins in order to find a missing teenage vampire who has been kidnapped and threatened with being burned alive. The Conclave covers up the secrets of the video by making the public believe that it is a new movie trailer, and assign certain members to work on production. This provides a cover-up, but does not fix the real problem at hand—someone knows far too much about them, and has every intention of using it against them.

She is quickly thrown into untangling a web of lies and secrets regarding the kidnapping, facing an unforeseen twist when she thought she had all the answers, yet ultimately finding who is responsible for threatening their world, and why.

Mimi learns that Jack has been found by the Venators that she had sent to look for him, but he refuses to turn himself in. While she is pleased that her brother is ready to face his fate, she is also planning to travel to Hell to rescue Kingsley, with Oliver by her side. Jack and Schuyler have traveled to Egypt in an attempt to find a solution to the impending blood trial, the confrontation between Jack and Mimi in which only one can survive. The two of them search Alexandria for one of the gates along with its gatekeeper, Catherine of Siena. They hope to find a way to keep Jack from facing Mimi's wrath, and to save the Blue Bloods.

After they are kidnapped by none other than Deming Chen and the Lennox twins, Sam and Ted, they learn that Red Blood women are being taken in order to birth 'Nephilim' by the Silver Bloods to be used in Lucifer's fight to regain access back into Heaven.

Review: Lost in Time (Blue Bloods, Book 6) by Melissa de la Cruz

Mimi still has every intention of making Jack pay for breaking their bond, but she first wants to rescue Kingsley Martin. She and Oliver go on a mission to travel to Hell to find him, but Mimi knows that she has to make a trade—a soul for a soul—if she wants to free her true love, and secretly takes advantage of Oliver's presence.

When they find Kingsley, she is shocked to find that he appears to be content living in Hell and appears to have lost all interest in her, much to her dismay. It is only when Kingsley learns of Mimi's true reason for traveling to Hell, that he realizes the misunderstanding and reveals his true feelings to her. Allegra Van Alen has developed deep feelings for Ben, but forces herself to attempt to stay away from him before it progresses too far. She knows that she is the true bondmate of Charles Van Alen, and the two of them are meant to be together.

Charles knows what is happening between the two of them and tries to keep Allegra on the right path and protect her from making a dire mistake, but she cannot help but be drawn to Ben. Even though she is plagued with visions of her lying unconscious in a hospital bed as a result of her temptations, she cannot turn her back on love. Jack finally confronts Mimi to face his fate, but he has learned what they must do in order to permanently break their bond so neither of them will have to perish, and they ultimately make a very dark decision to once again give their loyalty to Lucifer.
